Forced Marriages
A forced marriage is when a bride and groom commonly of a young age are forced into marriage but do not want to. It is mostly forced upon them by relatives and family. Forced marriage is normally forced upon by people by being threatened or blackmailed. Every year millions of young people are forced into marriage all over the world against their will, sadly generally by their own families. A lot of the time a forced marriage results in many traumatic experiences for the person being thrown into the marriage, it could result in abuse, depression, loosing trust, power. A lot of the time one party of the forced marriage gives consent to the marriage, most commonly the groom, in many cases the women is unhappy and forced into the marriage.
Arranged Marriages
An arranged marriage is when the couple is decided by their families and the couple has the ability to know what they are getting themselves into by getting married. The arrange marriages has more freedom for the bride and groom as they give consent to get married but don’t have a choice with who they get married to. Not everyone is really happy with the marriages, but some couples have always known that about the marriage and are okay with it, and are happy.
